My name is Emily and I started Prairie House Farm Co. in 2024 to market my home-raised chicken and beef. I wanted to share not only my products but my profession as a livestock farmer. Thank you for being here!

Prairie House Farm Co. offers custom-processed beef and chicken. These products are raised on a small farm in Perry, Iowa.

Broiler Chickens

I started raising meat birds in 2022 after reading Joel Salatin’s Pastured Poultry Profit$. My chickens are raised free range outdoors and in mobile coops at night. They are processed at a local inspected meat locker at 9-10 weeks. I am still learning and scaling up this enterprise, but it is already a truly rewarding experience.

Beef Cattle

I hand-feed and finish beef calves starting from day one. They receive high quality milk replacer until they are started on grass and small amounts of grain. These calves will finish on a grain-based ration.

Free Range Brown Eggs

My laying flock has expanded and I have fresh eggs available weekly. My hens free range during the day and lay large brown eggs.
